Day 2: Quito City Tour

Day 3: Quito - Ilaló - Otavalo
This two hour walk takes us up to 3,200 metres altitude, from where we can enjoy gorgeous views over Quito and the "Avenue of the Volcanoes", inlcuding the peaks of Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Antisana, Cayambe and the Ilinizas.

Day 4: Otavalo - Cuicocha
The deep blue Cuicocha Lake, at 3,400 metres, is set in a volcanic crater with two emerald green islands and offers visitors stunning views across the province of Imbabura and the surrounding snow-capped volcanoes. The hike around the lake takes around four to five hours.

Day 5: Otavalo - San Pablo - Zuleta
From San Pablo lagoon we will walk to the town of Zuleta though the indigenous lands of Imbabura, where family-run farms cling to the slopes of Cayambe, Imbabura and Cusín Volcanoes.

Day 6: Tram ride and Peguche
From Ibarra we will ride on the roof of the "Autoferro" tram towards Lita, passing incredible views and tropical vegetation.

Day 7: Otavalo Market - Quito
Visit one of the largest and most colourful markets in South America! You will find textiles, fruit, crafts and animals for sale at this market, which occupies a huge part of the city of Otavalo.

Day 8: Cotopaxi - Quilotoa
Cotopaxi National Park, home to llamas and wild horses, surrounds Cotopaxi Volcano, Ecuador´s second-highest peak at 5,897 metres. We will ascend to the volcano´s refuge, at 4,800 metres, and from there head towards the glacier.

Day 9: Quilotoa - Baños
This magnificent region of the Western Andes takes us past numerous indigenous towns, lush mountainsides and desert-like plains, to the area´s most spectacular sight - Quilotoa crater lake.

Day 10: Baños
Located at a subtropical 1,800 metres altitude, at the foot of the smoke-spewing Tungurahua Volcano, Baños is a perfect place for relaxing. We will visit sugarcane plantations, the cathedral, wood and tagua workshops, a zoo with tropical wildlife and of course the natural thermal pools that give the town its name.

Days 11-13: The Amazon
We will spend a day travelling to our jungle lodge , from where we can enjoy treks and canoe rides through the Amazon rainforest, as we observe wildlife, spectacular scenery and medicinal plants.
