Expediciones Andinas is a Tour Operator specializing in Adventure Tourism throughout continental Ecuador, with more than 30 years experience in organizing and leading different groups of national ans international tourists. It is lead by the internationally renowned mountaineer and professional mountain guide, instructor, author and naturalist, Marco Cruz Arellano.

We are supported by a group of professionals specially trained to operate trekking programs, high mountain climbing, mountain biking, cultural and educational field trips. We are also able to offer transportation, camping equipment, technical climbing and descending gear, and related equipment for rental.

Given our many years of experience in the service of our clients, and given our intimate knowledge of the mountains and destinations of interest in Ecuador, we are also able to arrange tailor-made tours for those who request them. Furthermore, given that we are a local operation, owned by locals and with our roots spread deep, we know the territory and we know how to cover it.

Additionally, Expediciones Andinas provides its customers with a mountain refuge nestled at the foot of Ecuador´s highest mountain, El Chimborazo. The Estrella del Chimborazo refuge is located at 12.000 ft. (4000m) and is a 40-minute drive from Riobamba.

Works with and rents horses to Casa del Condor, an Kichwa community located near Estrella del Chimborazo refuge.
