Huasquila Lodge

Leer esto en Español

Huasquila Amazon Lodge bungalows are built by native people from nearby communities with natural materials in typical Kichwa style. We have combined the Kichwa building style with modern facilities to offer you a beautiful and superior class cabin.

Huasquila’s terrace restaurant is built in such a way that nature is always within reach. It has a beautiful view of the protected Antisana Reserve and offers you the best local, national and international dishes.

Alcoholic beverage policies (if served)

We also have bar service for you to enjoy cocktails and all the standard drinks with Huasquila´s special touch.

On-site activities

Huasquila offers a wide variety of attractions and activities. From staying in your bungalow, relaxing in a hammock enjoy the beautiful sounds of the Amazon watching the beautiful Rainforest with its singing birds, to a day full of adrenaline with whitewater rafting.

You can also discover the fascinating world of the sacred valley of Cotundo, home of Shamans, with its ancient knowledge.

Transfer services provided (if any)

There are several alternatives to get to Huasquila. You can take a regular flight to Tena or get there by bus or private car. There are three weekly flights from and to Quito while buses leave every day at different times. The road trip offers lots of attractions and beautiful landscapes with volcanoes, waterfalls and more.

Huasquila direct transfer (highly recommended)

Our newest service is the direct transfer. Huasquila has a brand new minivan which will pick you up in your hotel and take you non-stop to Huasquila (stops possible if you wish to take pictures, go to the bathroom, etc). We will drive you back to your destination and you will enjoy having a private minivan which adapts to your special wishes.

Plane

The flight lasts approx. 20 minutes. At your arrival Huasquila staff will pick you up from the airport. The ticket costs about 65 USD (one way, incl. taxes).

Bus

Several bus companies travel to Tena every day. “Transportes Baños”, “Amazonas” and “Jumandy” are the most famous ones. The bus leaves from Quito´s main bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre) and the trip lasts approx. 5 hours. When you get into the bus you have to tell the driver that you want to get off in Cotundo, from where we will pick you up to take you to Huasquila. There are comfortable buses (executive buses) and normal ones. The ticket costs about 6 USD. Please contact Huasquila before buying your ticket to organize your arrival and so that we may help you to choose the right type of bus.

Visit programs to communities close by and learn how they live and get to know their culture. The visit to the Shaman (wise old man who can cure you with his powers) will be an unforgettable experience! You might even be willing to get a “limpia” (“clean”) to purify your body from bad energies.

There are also volunteering programs with local communities.
