Perched at the base of the Ilinizas mountains, and within easy reach of Cotopaxi National Park, Llovizna is an affordable, friendly place to stay for climbing and hiking enthusiasts. This colorful and quirky Hostel/Refuge is a comfortable base for those wishing to explore Ecuador's toughest peaks, and to unwind at the end of a long day on the slopes.

An open-plan common area greets guests, with a restaurant and bar at one end, and a lounge area with sofas and cable TV at the other. Bedrooms lead off the balconies above, and there is a computer, as well as wifi throughout, for guests to send tales of their exploits back home.

Hostal Llovizna runs two-week volunteer programmes. Participants can do various jobs, such as reforestation, cleaning the rivers, signposting trails and community work. Some of the projects are carried out in Cotopaxi National Park.
