The Thomas H. Davis Ecotourism Centre is a small but modern lodge built in accordance with its natural surroundings. The open-air design allows intimate contact with nature and the soothing sounds of the rushing Umachaca River. The Maquipucuna Lodge:
Is surrounded by 35,000 acres of both primary and secondary forest located within the Choco-Andean Bioregion, one of the world's top-five biodiversity hot spots.
Is staffed with guides and service personnel mainly from the local communities.
Provides comfortable accommodations for up to 30 people in five separate bedrooms and shared bathrooms, 3 suites with private bathrooms, and a family cabin with private bathrooms. All bathrooms offer hot showers.
Offers a magnificent porch where you can relax to the sounds of the forest in the warm caressing breezes and flying colours against the solid, dripping cape of green, green, green.
Has a full kitchen that serves three meals a day utilizing the best of local ingredients and recipes. An abundance of fresh vegetables are grown and served from the Reserve's own organic garden.
Is adjacent to a research station with facilities which may accommodate up to 18 researchers.

Local as well as scientist guides are available to lead walks and to provide more information. With advance notice, tours may be arranged in any of the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German, and Dutch.
